About Mike Russell

Mike Russell has been racing for almost 30yrs and although started on 2 wheels has progressed to race on 4 wheels aswell. Mutiple British Champion, Goodwood Revival winner and has raced across Europe, he has had the privialge of racing a broad range of bikes and cars from club to international level.

Racing.

I do this for the love. It's as simple as that. I don't have a catering budget, sponsorship logo's and a constant need to fill social channels. I look after all my cars and bikes, load/unload and pay for most it. I was born into racing and many years later I still get the 'buzz' when I drive into a race track for whatever I am doing. Or when a racing vehicle starts up, even applying for my race license every year I can get goose bumps. I do this for a love.

Following in the foot steps of an incredible racing legacy set by Gordon and Sally Russell I've been racing for almost 30yrs. Starting in the world of classic motorcycle racing I have been lucky enough to race across Europe from road racing in Belgium to support races at MotoGP. I have also had the chance to race almost all types of motorcycles: incredible grand prix 250cc 2-strokes, 1000cc Superbikes, classic 500cc singles even a Greeves Silverstone! During that time I cannot remember the number of podiums and race wins but stand outs are 3 x British Classic Champion, fastest laps at 2 x MotoGP support races and Goodwood Revival Barry Sheene winner.

Around 7yrs ago I also started car racing, mostly so I could continue to race with my father and share his Classic MGB. This lead to having a chance to race at the Goodwood Revival in a 500cc F3 car and has now snowballed into a combined adventure of 2 and 4 wheels! I've had the chance to race multiple different cars at some of the best events, including fastest laps, wins and podiums at events from the Silverstone Classic/Festival, Spa Classic, C1 24hrs, Masters, Motor Racing Legends and CSCC classics.

Recently I have started to coach both riders and drivers. After years of gaining experience in both bike/car setup and how to get the best from the circuit and a race weekend I started getting asked if I could help racers. My day job involves a lot of personal development and so my 2 worlds have started to collide. If you think I can help you or your bike/car become safer, faster and more consistant please get in contact. As they say on Mastermind, my specalist subject is Historic racing!

I only have 2 more racing goals. Firstly, more racing adventures with great friends and family. Secondly to race Jaguar E-Type. If you think you can help with either of these please let me know!!!
